Dental IMPLANT ASSESSMENT

IMPLANT ASSESSMENT

FREE PRELIMINARY IMPLANT ASSESSMENT: The Online questionnaire will take you just a few minutes to complete. We will indicate the possible treatment solutions once we have received your enquiry.

FREE DENTAL IMPLANT CONSULTATIONS: We are offering free dental implant consultations with Dr Perry or one of his team. The assessment form  will give us an idea of the treatment you may require in advance, which will save time for both patients and the clinic. If you have already had a consultation at another clinic, please bring the treatment plan with you. A CT scan will almost always be required for £145, so if you already have one, please let us know.

FREE ADVICE & INFORMATION LINE: Discuss your requirements with our Implant Coordinator, who will be able to offer advice and information on implant dentistry. This is carried out over the telephone or by visiting the clinic in person if you live nearby.

If you have previously had an implant consultation and you would like a second opinion free of charge, send us a copy of your report and we will give you a ‘like for like’ comparison of cost, without any charge.

FREE TRANSFERS: We provide FREE transfers from local Rail Stations in our courtesy car for all patients who attend for clinical treatment.

Implant Suitability. A CBCT Scan

During this appointment a CBCT scan (3D Scan) will be taken to determine your suitability for implant restorative treatment. The scan results will confirm the depth, width and quality of the jawbone plus clearly identify important structures to be avoided such as blood vessels and nerves.

The Importance of CBCT scans:

CBCT scans are essential to measure the depth and width of the bone in the optimum implant location. They offer a highly accurate assessment of bone quality and condition.

Without CBCT scans these conditions cannot be determined until the surgical procedure has already commenced. Regular Panoral X-rays do not show the 3-D view needed to assess the exact bone depth. Patients are sometimes told that they are unable to have implants due to insufficient bone depth in the sinus areas, whereas a CBCT scan may well show that there is sufficient width to place implants and complete implant restoration without the need for sinus lifting or grafting. We consider that a CBCT scan is essential for safe implant placement. For this reason, we will not risk placing any implants without first having a CBCT scan.

The Importance of Dental Hygiene & Periodontal Treatment:

Good oral hygiene and healthy gums are essential both at the time of implant placement and for its long-term viability. If your mouth is not clean enough for implants, you will need to see a hygienist or dentist to get it healthy before we start. Maintenance is also very important, as implants will be affected by gum disease, and problems are likely to occur if you do not look after your teeth and implants properly.

It is estimated that 5% of implants fail to bond with bone. This is a general worldwide figure. Our clinic’s percentage is less than 1% because of careful preparation and planning.
